M CAUGHT IN THE ACT: SERENITY & JONATHAN MORGAN Sweep The 2001 AVN AWARDS, Winning BEST COMEDY And BEST ACTRESS By Creating The Year's Best Porn Parody...And Now It's Available on DVD! Movies are like modern magic spells, enchanting and enthralling us with their clever illusions. Motion pictures have become our universal religion -- we build temples in which to worship them. We kneel down before our televisions in penitent reflection. Ancient Romans had a pantheon of gods to worship... ...we have porn stars! Such is the manifesto of director Jonathan Morgan's M: Caught In the Act, a XXX "mockumentary" from Wicked Pictures that swept the 2001 ADULT VIDEO NEWS Awards. The video itself won Best Comedy, while Serenity was received a nod for Best Actress - the same award she'd won the previous year for her stellar work in Morgan's Double Feature. The Wicked Girl is the first actress in industry history to have won the coveted award two years in a row. M Caught In The Act is a wonderfully twisted tale that chronicles the rise and fall of the titular "M," a self-absorbed sex goddess who portrays herself to the public as a kinder, gentler porn star for the new millennium. However, as documentary filmakers begin taping her life in a 24/7 fashion reminicent of MTV's Real World, it's soon revealed that M inhabits a universe rife with spiraling madness. Obviously, M: Caught In The Act is a work of fiction. It's not meant to portray the lives of any past or present sex professionals... Or is it? "No!" Is the emphatic reply of luminous Wicked girl Serenity, whose previous big-budget collaboration with Morgan, the B-movie homage Double Feature, won a record ten AVN awards. "I don't want it to be perceived as a true story, or to even be based on any truths about me. It's not a portrayal of me in any way, shape, or form." Grinning, the bosomy Las Vegas resident adds, "but its a very hysterical story, and I really wanted to do it!" When asked what brought this classically trained ballerina into the into the porn fold in the first place, Serenity heartily responds, "Alot of nagging! Seriously, I started out doing magazines, and the video companies kept asking me to do videos. Finally, I tried it, liked it, and eight years later, here I am!" "Here" includes maintaining a relationship with Wicked Pictures, with whom she's renewed her contract for another two years. What led her into such a relationship in the first place? "I had come to a point in my career where I wanted to expand on not only what I did, but what type of roles I'd accept and what types of characters I would be portraying. I was really interested in getting much more involved in my projects. So, I started exploring my options. I'd done my very first video [the all-girl feature Jennifer Ate] for Wicked Pictures, so I decided to start there first, and the rest is history! I'm still signed to Wicked Pictures, I have several great specials running on the E! Channel, including 'Wild On Adventure.' I'm very excited about how everything has turned out. Much like she did on the award-laden Double Feature, Serenity seems to be maintaining an almost synergistic relationship with writer-director Jonathan Morgan. "We have this chemistry of being almost like siblings, like a brother and sister team if you well. As heavily as we may banter to one another about every detail sometimes, we also come to a level where we understand what the other person is talking about. Like there are certain things that I have to offer, and there are certain ways that I understand what he's asking for as a director. It works well this way." Concluding her take on this award-winning video, she adds, "M Caught In The Act proves once again that Wicked Pictures, Jonathan Morgan, and I make great movies together."
